CONCEPT
Create new wisdom and navigate the future
with the spirit of intellectual curiosity and the joy of discovery
RIKEN is Japan’s largest and most comprehensive research organization for basic and applied science and a world leader in a diverse array of scientific disciplines. The driving forces behind scientific research are intellectual curiosity and the joy of discovery, which create the empathy inherent to science.
RIKEN is home to researchers from a diverse range of research fields and academic disciplines. With the empathy that science possesses, these researchers can easily leap between their respective fields and gather together to create new wisdom in succession, and to find new scientific horizons and clues to solving global-scale issues, thereby opening up pathways of knowledge toward a better future.
Mission of TRIP
Navigate the future
TRIP is an organization that works across disciplines to provide solutions to scientific and social issues that are difficult to solve in specific research fields.
By producing high-quality data with RIKEN's cutting-edge research platforms, we will create breakthroughs in quantum scientific computation through the fusion of mathematical science and AI, as well as "predictive science" for better prediction and control. Furthermore, we will establish a pioneering research infrastructure for research digital transformation by, for example, developing an infrastructure for hybrid computing integrating quantum computers and supercomputers to expand the computable domain.
In addition, as Japan’s largest comprehensive research institution, we will develop initiatives to rapidly adapt the usefulness of these research infrastructures to science and society, as well as a flexible response to rapid scientific and technological progress, and an agile approach to world-leading scientific research, in order to pave the "pathway of knowledge" toward a better future. We will continue to pioneer "pathways of knowledge" toward a better future.
